As observed by Josef Ackermann, (former MD. of Deutsche Bank in Germany ) ‘ ….. just to give you an idea of my calendar for the next ten days: Berlin tomorrow, then Seoul, then Munich, then Frankfurt, then Singapore, then the Middle East. I’m almost constantly on a plane. With all this traveling, physical stamina has become much more important. I remember a time when after flying to Hong Kong you could take a whole day off to recover. Today, right after landing you rush to your first meeting. And maybe you already have a conference call in the car on your way into town. You are lucky if you get enough time to take a shower. And of course, with all the new information technology, you are constantly available, and the flow of information you have to manage is huge; that has added to the pressure. You are much more exposed to unforeseen shifts and negative surprises and you have to make quick decisions and respond to or anticipate market movements around the world. So you have to have a very stable psyche as well. I see more and more people these days who just burn out….’ Under this tight business schedule, can a CEO do without a competent secretary? Today when we talk about change and innovation, we are referring to a structured approach for transiting individuals, teams, and organizations from a current state to a desired future state. The reality is that change is happening at a faster pace than most people can accept, understand and buy-into. While many change initiative had encouraging starts ,they dramatically slowed down and many eventually stopped. What these initiatives have in common is they are process driven; and for simplicity or expedience most organizations have considered their employees as parts of the process rather than the facilitators of the process. This has resulted in employees being disengaged and not feeling empowered or connected to the vision of the change initiatives. Change and Innovation often succeed or fail because of the human dimensions. Therefore, managers need to be able to handle both the people and technical aspects of change. This highly interactive 5 day workshop will help managers to understand the process of managing change and innovation and also how to gain commitment and involvement from their organizations.
